About Bough Bikes

Bough Bikes is just a bicycle, but no ordinairy bike. Our mission is to bring people closer to nature. The (electric) wooden bikes make people experience a natural connection. They generate positive and social reactions. Be moved by nature. 

The Dutch company Bough Bikes is founded in 2012 by Piet Brandjes. The Bough Bike is a wooden high-quaulity bicycle designed by Jan Gunneweg. All bikes are made of oak from the French Jura region. These forests are sustainably-managed according to Nature 2000 standards.

The wooden bicycle parts are produced by an advanced computer-controlled milling machine at a small company in the center of Holland. After that the wooden bike is assembled manually. With this semi-automatic method we can produce larger numbers of high quality bicycles that all have their own unique appearance.
